What makes someone a poser
It's actually pretty rare; it seems like there are more people being unfairly called poseurs because they're just starting, and that sucks, because a bunch of them get pissed off and quit.
What if you're broken, and still love it, but can't do it? Should I just start wearing khakis and tucked polo shirts? That's dues imo, we are all limited to greater or lesser extent by injuries, as long as you are still rolling around and doing what you can, who cares. Yup-card has been revoked Jk man, OG's are just that If you mallgrab, that's one thing.
If you ballgrab, that's a whole other story. Switch ballgrabs are super sick. It feels like a stranger is doing all the work when you go switch. Poser, takes pictures holding a deck looking like he is skating, but does not even try. You are not a poser if you make an effort within your capabilities, and love it.
I have scares, and broken bones from skating. Nothing to serious. Lately I play it safe because my family depends on me to work so I can provide. If I get injured I make no money. So it's really about talking shit. Not taking a shit. With fear as a kid, and my bad knees now, I don't know if I ever will learn. But I always loved to get on, and just see how fast I can go.
I'd like to think as long as you love it, and you have fun with it as best you can, that's not a poser. These characteristics present themselves loud and clear in any given business meeting in which a poser and his or her boss are present. So, read on and see for yourself, if you are a poser and didn't even know it. You regularly say "I was just about to say that. So, they are likely to jump on the bandwagon of a good idea and try to share in the credit by suggesting that they had that very same idea, but, someone else beat them to the punch.
If you don't want to be a poser, simply agree with and acknowledge someone else's good idea and work with your colleagues to extend and fortify the thought. You "pooh-pooh" someone's idea and then go on to restate that very same idea as if it's your own.
Posers like to steal the show. One way to do that is to publically reject someone's idea and suggest a better one. Unfortunately, with no better idea to share, a poser will restate an earlier one and take it for their own.
If you don't want to be a poser, simply state your disagreement with the thought. Explain why it doesn't work for you, and, in lieu of a better idea, leave it at that!
You wait to see where the leader lands on any given subject before offering your opinion. Posers like to be sure that they are aligned with their boss. So, they won't offer an opinion until they understand their boss' position. Someone who acts like they can skate but cannot and make no effort to actually learn. Often this is to look cool, like just carrying a skateboard or saying you skate but often never actually skating to not break the illusion that that can skate.
In most contexts an Emo person is interesting as they are mostly a mystery and hang out with their own kind. The posers will usually wear it, not because it looks cool, but because it would make them look like a skater, which looks cool. Posers often have no or obviously fake scratch marks on their boards, while a real skater will have scratch marks on the middle, nose, and tail of the board, depending on their style and tricks.
Penny boards are a smaller board than most skateboards. One other reason why people think Penny boards are bad is because of the shape and design. The design focuses primarily on cost savings. Because of this, it costs riders the experience of having comfort and stability whenever they ride. They also hate on surfers this has happened to me because I am more of a surfer than skater.
They are shaped to resemble era skateboards that were made of plastic. The small size of the skateboards make them easy to store and carry. It is also their size that makes them dangerous. There is nothing wrong with Penny Boards — they are a short, cheap board BUT Penny Boards are not a good board choice for most people in most riding scenarios due to their small size.
If you are looking for a board, which is ideal for commuting, then you might want to pick out the penny board.
