We had not heard of Bridlewood but thought we would check it out. It was our favorite of the day. The place is like a beautiful resort but not overdone. Lovely patios, trees and vistas. The wines were wonderful and the people very helpful with our group.
We like their Rhone wines and the Zin the best. Don't miss it. This is one of our favorite places to go and hang out.
The place is gorgeous with patiosand verandas to hang out-- plus the lake area is very special. The wine too! Bring some friends to impress. This is a pretty good winery in my opinion. Having been to many of the Southern California Wineries, I have plenty to compare this to. The winery itself is absolutely gorgeous. On entrance is a gorgeous fountain backdropped by a white building with a three bell arch behind it.
There are plenty of souvenirs to buy including shirts, purses, glasses, etc. The wine I tried was all good but their bottles are sometimes rather expensive. It has a mild aroma that was somewhat flowery. It has a slight taste of blueberry as it hits the back of the tongue. Overall it was a nice trip and nice people in the Tasting Room.
This is a regular stop for me when I head up to Los Olivos. The grounds are spectacular. There are great places to have lunch while enjoying the local wine.
The estate wines I've tried here have been excellent. I love their Syrah blends. It is a must see when you are in the area. This winery is gorgeous and has a very nice picnic area and tasting room.
You can even take a ride through the vineyards in a horse drawn carriage weather permitting. They have great Syrahs and Chardonnays. This former race-horse rehabilitation center has been transformed into a dramatic resort-like winery operation. Sample the limited release wines in an intimate tasting room and experience a distinctive taste of Wine Country. A forest of trees greets you as you drive up to the Spanish-style building, complete with a traditional mission-style bell tower, tile roofs and broad verandas.
Beyond the circular driveway, olive trees, and fountain and olive trees, a veranda leads to the large wooden doors of the tasting room. An extensive selection of clothing, wine accessories and packaged gourmet foods is also available. Outside, flagstone patios with magnificent views of the property including the pond, vineyards, full-sized race track, and horse stables. To ensure an good experience and personalized attention for their guests, advanced reservations are required.
This experience also includes a taste of gently pressed Bridlewood Olive Oil. This tasting is a wonderful introduction to the tasting room exclusive wines. The Collectors Tasting showcases a selection of Bridlewood Estate Winery's top tasting room exclusive wines.
This seated tasting experience is conducted in a beautiful barrel room. The Estate Winery Tour and Tasting begins with a walking tour of the scenic estate vineyard where guests are introduced to block specific wines and learn more about the vineyard.
