The beach is the amazing part of Swamis for tourists wanting to see real California surf culture. Closed only 2 hours between 2 and 4 a. People passing through stop to watch, picnic on the lawns on the hilltop above the beach, or descend a set of steps to the sandy beach below that isn't particularly large.

The parking lot often is filled, but you can park further down the road and walk to this beach. The area also features a wonderful bike path, part of the Bayshore Bikeway, that takes riders past the San Diego National Wildlife Refuge and offers great views of the bay and skyline.

Where to go Moonlight State Beach at the end of Encinitas Boulevard is where the shore drops down nearer to sea level, and is the easiest of Encinitas' beaches to find and use. With a large sandy area, a recreational playground, snack bar, bathrooms, showers, fire pits, volleyball courts and ample parking, this is a popular beach for families and vacationers looking to spend the whole day at the beach.
D Street is the access point to the mile-long beach also known as Boneyards that runs below the bluffs from Moonlight Beach south to Swami's point. D Street is a rocky cobblestone-encumbered spot better suited to surfing than sunbathing, although some of those dedicated enough to make the pilgrimage are also devoted enough to bare it all, despite state law.
Swami's is the popular surf break at the southernmost end of Encinitas, set below bluffs where the golden-spired Self-Realization Center is located—an enduring symbol of Encinitas' positive and spiritual vibe. A great surf break, this spot is highly coveted by local surfers. Sea Cliff —the small park adjacent to the Swami's parking lot—offers an idyllic setting of shade trees, picnic tables, barbecues and clean bathrooms.
Parking Moonlight Beach offers a large, dedicated free parking area. Street parking along residential neighborhoods is also free. The stand at Moonlight Beach is staffed year-around. Up by the parking lot, there are comfortable benches from where it is wonderful to just watch the waves and the surfers and let go of any stress or tension you might have in your life. And speaking of the parking lot - If the parking lot is full, the alternative is to park along the highway outside of the park entrance.
Another fun and popular activity on Swami's Beach Encinitas are tide pools. You can take some amazing Instagram pictures and maybe get to see some sea stars, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, barnacles, or anemones trapped in them - don't worry they'll be just fine until the tide rises again. The best time of the year to go tide pooling is late fall to early winter Nov - Feb when the tide is low during daylight hours. Encinitas, California really has the best weather with "pleasant" days and an average temperature between 55 to 75 degrees there is no bad time to visit.
The busiest seasons for tourism in Encinitas are the spring and summer months, from march to august which makes them perfect for looking for things to do. With an average high between Swami's Beach in Encinitas gives us what is probably the best view of the California coastline. With the best sunsets, gold-like glittering sand and friendliest people, Swami's is clearly a local favorite and as the name suggests this is one of the calmest beaches you will ever visit. It is truly a blessed location.
